Aasraa Power Vaayu AR921B is a lightweight folding electric wheelchair designed for everyday independence and easier travel.

Weighing just 18 kg including its lithium battery, or 15.8 kg without the battery, Vaayu combines a compact aircraft-grade aluminium frame with a practical 15–18 km range per full charge, depending on usage and conditions.

Its quick-folding design and integrated pull-out trolley handle make storage and transport simpler, while flip-up armrests and a movable footrest support convenient side transfers. A left- or right-hand compatible digital joystick controller with a built-in LED torch gives you intuitive control.

Model-Specific Instructions
  • Joystick & Controller: Switch off the wheelchair before transferring, folding or removing the controller. For air travel, remove the joystick to help prevent damage and carry it in your cabin baggage, subject to airline rules.
  • Safe Transfers: Switch off the joystick and ensure both motors are in electric-drive mode, with the brakes engaged as designed. Place your feet securely on the floor, flip up the footrest and swing up the armrest to transfer from the side.
  • Manual & Electric Modes: Select manual/freewheel mode before pushing the wheelchair by hand. Do not force it while the motors are engaged. Ensure both motor release levers are set to the intended mode. Never switch to freewheel mode on a slope.
  • Folding & Unfolding: Switch off the power and set both motors to manual/freewheel mode. Release the rear folding lock and push the backrest down to fold. Extend the trolley handle to move the folded wheelchair. To unfold, lift the backrest until the locking mechanism clicks into place. Keep fingers clear of moving joints.
  • Travel & Transport: Secure the wheelchair during vehicle transport. Protect the joystick, armrests and removable parts from impact. Never lift the wheelchair by the joystick or other detachable components.
  • Rain & Wet Surfaces: Avoid heavy rain, waterlogged roads and direct water exposure to the controller, battery and electrical connections. Do not operate the wheelchair if electrical components are wet.
  • Before Every Ride: Confirm the frame is fully unfolded and locked, both motors are set to electric-drive mode, and the joystick responds normally before moving.
